Hold for Release – Order Now, Ship Later

We're excited to introduce Hold for Release – a new option available when placing a purchase order.

What Is Hold for Release?

When selected, Hold for Release sends your PO to the supplier but holds off shipment until you give the green light.

When Should You Use It?

Use Hold for Release when you want to lock in current pricing or stock, but you're not yet ready to receive the goods or the delivery schedule is still to be determined.

Releasing Your Order

When you're ready, use the “Release” option to ship all or part of your order—each release is in the Receiving Log for full visibility.

What the Supplier Receives

When you submit a PO with Hold for Release, the supplier receives the purchase order. Release request emails will include:

  • a Release PDF
  • the Original PO
  • Shipping instructions
